3 A word of welcome The International Energy Foundation (IEF) is pleased to present its second activities report covering the period and summarizing our work since 1998 in serving energy, environment and development. The period of the report will be considered as historical according to all measures as the Libyan people decided in 2011 to over through the old regime and to move towards democracy, pluralism, protection of human rights and sustainable human development. Following these changes IEF decided also to comprehensively review its work plans to help the host country the new Libya- and the region achieving their ambitious aims. As a result of this review IEF plans to add new activities necessitated by the challenges of our time with regard to offer training in Management, Finance, and information technology, new and renewable energy resources.the same applies to our offered services to foreign and national investors, which we have widened and increased. In the period of the report IEF focused on several events of tremendous importance such as protection of environment,climate change,clean production and others through holding international conferences,symposiums and workshops. IEF found it also important to activate its international advisory board to include prominent experts from all regions of the world with the aim to enhance our international dimensions and benefit from our international relations. We have also further strengthened our relations with UN organizations and other international entities and are proud of the newly concluded agreements of cooperation with national and international bodies to improve our work. In spite of the exceptional transitional circumstances our host country is going through we continued to do our work and to serve: we organized the 13the session of the Mediterranean Oil and Gas Conference in 2014, which was attended by more than 300 participants from Libya and abroad as well as other three international conferences. IEF has also held 42 training workshops with over 250 trainees; seven of these workshops were held abroad. Last and not least I am pleased to announce shortly the opening of our international branches in Istanbul and Vienna with the aim to increase our international presence and benefit from knowledge available abroad. I would like to offer my profound thanks and deep appreciation to all national and international bodies, which are cooperating with us and to all others who granted us guidance and advice. My sincere wishes for success and progress go to all our partners in performing their noble goals to save energy, protect the environment and aim at sustainable development. 4 INTERNATIONAL ENERGY FOUNDATION The International Energy Foundation is an international scientific NGO, founded in Libya upon a recommendation of the participants of a major international meeting on energy, called ENERGEX, which took place in Tripoli in The mandate assigned to IEF by the founders is to facilitate the transfer and disbursement of information, knowledge, expertise and advanced technologies in the fields of energy, environment and development IEF has 2700 connected members (scientists, experts, students, companies, universities etc. from 72 countries.)

5 OUR MAIN ACTIVITIES Organizing international conferences, in the average of two to three per year. So far IEF has organized 33 international conferences; the most paramount among them is the Mediterranean Petroleum and Gas Conference and exhibition, which was held 12 times. Provision of training, mainly in the energy and environment sector. As of End 2014 IEF has organized 250 training courses for over 2500 participates. Provision of technical, administrative and logistical support for IEF-members, who are operating or intend to start operations in Libya.

6 OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY To provide training with the aim to increase,update and refresh technical knowledge To offer complementary training in management, financing, administration, planning and information technology. To offer language training,particularly in technical English The number of our trainees per course is limited to ten participants. The level of our training coincides with the highest international standards. We utilize the services of national and international trainers who posses highest standard of expertise as well as long experience in training. We make use of the most modern training technology. We provide full documentation to each course. Our training takes place in and outside Libya. We insist on evaluating each training event in order to improve our self. We concluded cooperation agreements with several regional and international universities,consulting companies and training institutions in order to offer optimal training opportunities.

7 CUSTOMER-TAILORED TRAINING Utilizing our international and national experts and in cooperation with our international and regional partner institutions IEF is capable and ready to design and implement customer tailored training programs for institutions,companies and similar entities according to their specific needs and requirements. Such cooperation will include: Preparation of the training program Implementing the program Follow up and evaluation

8 COST AND BENEFIT According to its constitution IEF is a non-profit organization. 9 1 INFORMTION TECHNOLOGY CENTER The fast and extraordinary developments in the field of information technology are the focus of training offered by the information technology center. Participants will be trained in the last state of art achievements of the information technology & will receive internationally recognized certificates. The center is offering training choices as listed below in the 2 ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT CENTER subjects related to energy and environment towards sustainable development. The center is also engaged in preparing conferences and symposiums to take place in the coming months. The importance of oil and gas as source of energy remains in spite of all forecasts to the contrary unchallenged with the tendency to increase to meet new demands. The objective of 3 PETROLEUM STUDIE CENTER this center is to offer technical training in the fields of oil and gas, also including safety and environment protection, to improve the skills and performance of people working in this vital field who are facing international challenge.

10 4 MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT CENTER The center offers training activities in engineering, preparation of feasibility studies, management, Project planning, project management, human resource planning, leadership, management of change and other topics required by engineers and technicians in order to improve their skills and performance. 5 ISO TECHNOLOGY CENTER Improving quality in the fields of energy and environment is an imperative requirement for all working in these sectors as they have to be bound by internationally recognized ISO norms
